History

First of BTCC Cavaliers built in 1989 and used by John Cleland in the 1990 British Touring Car Championship. Orginally built as a 4-wheel drive car it was used for 2 races in this format with little success so was converted to front wheel drive.

After leaving the Vauxhall factory team the car continued in the BTCC in privateer hand, initially with Alan Minshaw's Demon Tweaks team and then with Ian Ashley.

Ian Ashley sold the car to Andy Clarkin, who used in the Formula Saloons Championship. Eventually the car was brought by Jim Pocklington who continue in Formula Saloons and later in the Classic Thunder Championship
