History

Midway through the 1994 season Mazda decided to pull out of the BTCC after Matt Neal distroyed his Xedos at Silverstone. Hoping to persuade Mazda to return to the series Team Dynamics funded the building of a 323 model by Roger Dowson using running gear salvaged from the Xedos.

The car made it's debut in the hands of Matt Neal at the FIA Touring Car World Cup, but having only just been completed in time failed to produce the required results.

Between 1997 and 1999 it was raced by Werner Van Herck in the Belcar series.

In 2003 the car was sold to Greek Mazda dealer Yiannis Varouhas who, along with Kostas Patsoureas, drove the car in the newly introduced Syper Touring class of the Greek Circuit Racing series. The class effectively folded at the end of the year due to a combination of high running cost and lack of interest but was resurrected in 2006 and Varouhas has again been campaigning the car.
